Student housing and hostels, run end to end

RoomPe is a student housing operator for universities, residential boarding schools and coaching institutes. It runs hostels from admission to exit: rooms, four meals a day, housekeeping, laundry, 24×7 security, wardens and a resident app, while the institution keeps ownership and fee control.

Which kinds of student housing does RoomPe run?

RoomPe runs three kinds of student housing. University and college hostels are its core, with 5 live campuses in Gujarat. Residential boarding schools need housemasters and closer supervision. Coaching institutes need study-first routines and capacity that follows batch sizes. All three run on C.A.R.T.

Why does hostel quality affect admissions?

Parents and outstation students choose campuses on the quality of residential life. A hostel with good food, visible safety and quick complaint resolution becomes a reason to enrol; a poorly run one becomes a reason to look elsewhere. That is why RoomPe treats the hostel as an admissions asset, not a cost centre.

The cheapest bed is rarely the cheapest outcome. What institutions should measure is outcomes per bed: admissions, retention, attendance and a welfare record that holds up to an auditor.

What does a RoomPe hostel run day to day?

Every RoomPe student hostel runs the same core services: four meals a day from an in-house, FSSAI-certified mess, scheduled housekeeping, commercial laundry, 24×7 security with CCTV and access control, trained wardens, and a resident app for attendance, leave, gate passes, complaints, mess polls and payments.

What does the community programme include?

The community layer is what separates a hostel students tolerate from one they recommend to their juniors. RoomPe’s programme covers life on campus, career and growth, and student essentials sorted on arrival, from events and sports to placement support, career counselling, bank accounts and insurance.

Frequently asked questions

What is a student housing operator?

A student housing operator runs hostels on behalf of the institution or owner that holds them. It handles admissions-to-exit operations, food, housekeeping, laundry, security, staff and reporting under one contract. RoomPe is a student housing operator; it does not sell hostels or act as a broker.

Do students pay RoomPe or the institution?

Under a management contract, the institution keeps commercial control, including setting the fees charged to students. For hostels that RoomPe leases and runs, payment arrangements depend on the agreement with each institution, and like every commercial term they are fixed in writing before mobilisation begins. [VERIFY: confirm fee collection arrangements per model]

How many meals do RoomPe hostels serve?

RoomPe student hostels serve four meals a day: breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner, from veg and non-veg messes run by RoomPe in FSSAI-certified kitchens. Students have a say in the menu through polls in the resident app, and the same kitchens can also run a canteen for staff and day scholars.

Can RoomPe run girls’ hostels?

Yes. RoomPe runs separate blocks or buildings for women, with access control, female wardens in charge of the block, CCTV in common areas and every entry and exit logged. Grievances go through a defined channel and are closed on record.

What is the difference between a student hostel and a PG?

A PG is usually a privately run house or building that rents beds to individuals. A RoomPe-run student hostel is operated for an institution under one contract, with four meals a day from in-house FSSAI-certified kitchens, trained wardens, 24×7 security, a resident app and a monthly report to the institution.
