Hostel staff: wardens, housemasters and property managers

RoomPe staffs every hostel it runs with trained, background-verified people: wardens for resident conduct and care, housemasters in boarding houses, property managers for maintenance and asset upkeep, plus mess, housekeeping, laundry and security teams. RoomPe handles hiring, training and HR compliance, and absorbs existing staff where agreed.

Which roles does RoomPe place on site?

RoomPe places seven kinds of staff: wardens for resident conduct and care, housemasters for boarding houses, property managers for maintenance and asset upkeep, mess teams of cooks and service staff, a commercial laundry crew, 24×7 security, and housekeeping for rooms, common areas and hygiene.

How does RoomPe staff a hostel?

Staffing follows five steps: a defined manpower structure agreed with the client before mobilisation, role-specific training modules for every function, verification and background checks on every hire, HR compliance handled entirely by RoomPe, and absorption of existing hostel staff where agreed, so continuity is protected from day one.

  1. Defined manpower structureAgreed with the institution or employer before mobilisation.
  2. Role-specific trainingTraining modules for every function on site.
  3. VerificationBackground checks on every hire.
  4. HR complianceHandled entirely by RoomPe.
  5. Existing staff absorbedWhere agreed, as part of the scope of work.

What does a RoomPe warden do?

A RoomPe warden is responsible for resident conduct and care: approving leave and gate passes in the app, handling issues and escalations, making sure complaints are assigned and closed, and being the first point of contact for residents. In women’s blocks, the warden is a woman, on duty at the entrance.

Can existing hostel staff stay on?

Yes, where agreed. RoomPe can absorb an institution’s existing hostel staff into its own structure, train them on RoomPe SOPs and bring them under its HR compliance. Absorption is finalised as part of the agreed scope of work, so continuity is protected from the first day of operations.

Frequently asked questions

Are RoomPe hostel staff background-verified?

Yes. Every RoomPe hire goes through verification and background checks and receives role-specific training before deployment. Staff are placed against a defined manpower structure agreed with the institution or employer before mobilisation, and HR compliance is handled entirely by RoomPe, so the client does not manage hostel staff directly.

Will RoomPe take over our existing hostel staff?

Where agreed. Absorption of existing hostel staff is finalised as part of the scope of work, so continuity is protected from day one. Absorbed staff are trained on RoomPe SOPs with role-specific modules, verified like every other hire, and brought under RoomPe’s HR compliance and manpower structure.

Who is in charge of a women’s hostel block?

A female warden. Women’s blocks are run by women in charge of the block and on duty at the entrance, with access control and a digitally logged visitor policy. At employer sites, grievances from women residents have their own channel, linked to the Internal Committee under the POSH Act.

Who pays hostel staff salaries?

RoomPe employs and pays the staff it places on site, and handles their HR compliance. The institution or employer pays RoomPe under one contract and one invoice. Hiring and training cost the institution nothing extra. Staff costs are part of the commercials agreed after the site audit.

Do RoomPe staff get trained before starting on site?

Yes. Every function on site has role-specific training modules, from wardens and housemasters to cooks, housekeeping, laundry and security staff. Training happens before deployment and covers RoomPe’s SOPs for that role, so staff absorbed from an institution’s existing team work to the same standard as RoomPe’s own hires.
